The Saturday Night Music Showcase

The Saturday Night Music Showcase is a regular INBA event featuring local bluegrass artists and bands. It is held on the 3rd Saturday of each month. Admission is only $5.00 and you'll enjoy an evening of fine entertainment and have the opportunity to support your local musicians. The show begins at 7:00 pm and usually lasts for a couple of hours.

The Music Showcase is now being held at University High School ( S. Pines Rd & E. 32nd). The auditorium is on the East side of the school. The lobby opens at 6:30 and the cost is $5.00. We will be jamming after the show at Savageland Pizza, 700 S. Dishman Rd. The dates for the coming year are: February 20, 2010 March 20, 2010, April 24. 2010 and May 15th, 2010.

If your band would like to play at the next SNBT, please see the Band Rules below.

SNBT Band Rules

The following rules were put together for the participating bands to allow us to run things more smoothly, so we have posted them here for everyone's benefit.  All bands playing the SNBT should read and understand these rules.

It appears that our local Bands have an aversion for playing as the opening Band for the Thang. This change must take place. EVERY Band will take their turn at playing first. A spreadsheet will be kept to keep track of the order of performances of each Show to insure that each band is treated fairly. NO exceptions.

  1. Each SNBT will be limited to a maximum of 5 or 6 bands.
  2. Let Jim Faddis know by the Wednesday before the Thang if your band is planning on playing.  Preferably sooner, as this also allows us to post the lineup on the web site.
  3. If you do sign up, we expect you to show up (we won't be checking to see if you really are sick, but we don't think it's right to just "change your mind").
  4. Bands are limited to 20 minutes, unless for some reason one of the signed up bands can't make it (see # 2). If that's the case, be prepared to add 5 minutes to your set to make up for the loss.
  5. Let's keep the electric instruments to a minimum, the PA is not set up to handle it and is time consuming.
  6. Our goal is to be done at 9:30 pm, so if we have 6 bands playing for 20 minutes, we should be able to take a 15 minute intermission and pretty much make it.

If anyone has any thoughts, criticisms or otherwise please bring them up by sending them to Jim Faddis. We're just trying to make this a good event for everyone concerned.
